Tula was found lying injured on the side of the road — a mother hit by a car, with five puppies waiting for her behind a gas station. We rescued them all that day, and Tula hasn't left our hearts since.
Her Story
In May 2022, as we pulled up to a gas station, we spotted a dog lying injured on the roadside. She had been hit by a car, and the driver hadn't stopped. As we got closer, it was clear she was a nursing mother. The gas station employee confirmed it — she lived behind the building with her puppies.
We rescued Tula and all five of her puppies that same day. One pup has since been adopted into a loving home, but Tula and her remaining four babies are still with us at the sanctuary. She's doing well — and her little family is a daily reminder of why we do this work.
