Lion was abandoned by the only family he ever knew — simply for growing old and falling ill. Even after all he's endured, when we approached him for the first time, his tail still wagged. His heart remains gentle and kind.
His Story
When we brought Lion to safety, the condition of his body broke our hearts. He suffers from a painful oral fistula that makes eating almost impossible, and his ears were so severely infected that he constantly shook his head in discomfort. His body was covered in ticks, leaving him dangerously anemic and exhausted.
Then came the diagnosis: Lion has leishmaniasis, a chronic disease that requires lifelong treatment. Despite everything, he has not given up. He leans into every gentle touch, grateful simply to be loved again. Each day he is surrounded by compassion and safety — for the first time in a very long time.
